Gather a favorite toy, a ball, and a book. Take turns describing what you see or do. You can model a short sentence without asking your child to repeat it.
Try these together
Move a toy: “The car goes.” Try adding a detail: “The car goes fast.”
Roll a ball: “I roll the ball.” Take turns choosing who rolls it.
Look at a book: “The dog is running.” Find another action to describe.
Let your child choose an activity. Describe their action in a short sentence.
If your child says “car,” you might respond, “The car goes!” Pause and enjoy the play.
